The LA-N15-A Raven² is a fully ambidextrous receiver set that incorporates features derived from our LA-M4® Battle Raven weapon system, which was first developed in 2019 for UK Special Forces (SAS). This system passed all Defense Standards to be S3 (Safe & Suitable for Service) compliant.
After receiving an RTT (Request to Tender) from UK MOD (Ministry of Defense) / UK Special Forces, Lantac's weapon system and E-BCG were entered intro military trials and third party tested by QinetiQ (MOD Pendine), where they met and exceeded test requirements to be NATO S3, Safe and Suitable for Service.
This standard can only be achieved through rigorous testing, in some cases to destruction and at the invitation of a NATO military force.


Both receivers are precision-machined by us in Fort Worth, Texas, from certified 7075-T6 aerospace-grade alloy. This material has full traceability from the USA mill to the USA manufacturer, enabling us to maintain an extremely high level of quality control.
Using certified alloy provides us with a complete metallurgical analysis of the material, which can then be passed through to any finishing process. Receivers are anodized to MIL-A-8625 Type III Hardcoat, Class 2 (#37038 of FED-STD-595) Black.
Painted receivers are blasted to form a key after anodizing and then finished with Cerakote H series ceramic coating in FDE.
The LA-N15-A Raven² receiver set features a patented, fully ambidextrous design (US11512920B1), meaning that controls are positioned to allow the operator to drop the magazine and lock and release the bolt from both sides of the lower. No additional parts are required to enable this functionality.
Controls are positioned so that the complete lower receiver can be used with a traditional forged upper receiver if desired.

The primary bolt catch has been strengthened with a larger material section surrounding the retaining pin hole. This enhancement significantly increases part strength and lifespan and is a patented design (US10816295B1).
Parts have been independently tested using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to confirm strength improvements.
The new catch can withstand 180 lbf (pound-force) before failure, compared to the original's 70 lbf, representing a 157% increase in strength. Additionally, the case hardening process creates a tough, wear-resistant surface, extending the component's lifespan.

LANTAC ENHANCED RAVEN² BOLT CATCH:

DESIGN:
All levers and catches are machined from 17-4 Precipitation Hardened Stainless Steel.
They are QPQ (Quench Polish Quench) Nitrided to AMS2753 standards for enhanced corrosion resistance and meet
or exceed US MIL-STD-810 and DEF STAN 00-35, 72 hour salt fog corrosion resistance testing.
CONTROLS:
The primary, enlarged, bolt catch is fenced, as is the left-side ambidextrous magazine lever.
All controls are protected from inadvertent actuation and snagging, they are designed to fit tight to the receiver frame and careful attention has been given to all surface details. Extensive testing ensures that there are no surface catch or snag hazards on the entire receiver set.


The right side ambidextrous bolt paddle has been recessed below the deflector lump in order to streamline the design.
Controls are retained with Allen Head screw bars rather than traditional roll pins and are manufactured from 17-4PH Stainless Steel which is QPQ Nitrided to AMS2753.
The magazine catch button is manufactured from 7075-T6 alloy, as per military specifications.
The control surface is scalloped and angled toward the operator, offering improved geometry that is easier to index. The button is anodized to MIL-A-8625 Type III Hardcoat, Class 2 (#37038 of FED-STD-595) Black.
The magazine button fence has been enlarged to facilitate easier operation while wearing gloves.

DESIGN:
The magazine well is broach-cut and features sharp internal corners, unlike inferior products that are milled. The internal surfaces are flat and perpendicular to the top of the lower receiver, ensuring correct positioning of the magazine within the assembly. The magazine well is also internally flared with an improved angle and features a magazine spine indexing notch that enables better magazine alignment, increasing operator efficiency—especially under high-stress, speed-reloading situations where fine motor skills are limited.

The billet trigger guard is shaped to accommodate winter gloved use when necessary. Its unique design protects the underside of the trigger bow while also providing ample space for trigger operation.
The rear takedown pin area features
a spotface recess around the pin hole, making it easier to start the pin and access the interior.
Stock extension threads are precision single point cut and align properly with the upper receivers bore when the parts are assembled.
The rear grip mounting surface has been fitted with a rubber nosed set screw that can be used to compress the rear lug against the rear takedown pin.

The UAR² upper receiver is designed with increased rigidity and resistance to deformation as a core principle, meaning that receiver 'flex' is significantly reduced compared to traditional forged uppers with thinner wall structures that do not resist deflection.
The billet design minimizes point of aim / point of impact shift when the weapon system is braced, loaded into a bipod, or stressed against barricades.
The top rail is both MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and NATO 4694 STANAG compatible, held to a higher tolerance standard than normal the rail is backwards compatible with all Picatinny mounts and offers an improved mounting surface.

The front lug features a compression pad that creates pressure between the upper and lower receivers, ensuring a perfect fit and preventing any detectable receiver movement.
Independent FEA (Finite Element Analysis) testing has been conducted to verify the strength of the design and extreme testing has proven the concept.

The UAR² upper receiver mimics the surface features of a forged upper around the barrel extension area, so that a wider range of handguards can be fitted without interacting with the receivers strengthened wall structure.

Additional rail slots have been added to the rear of the upper, increasing available mounting space. Upper receiver rail notches are not scalloped, which helps maintain strength and integrity to these critical surfaces.
The forward assist area is positioned to create a larger space between the charging handle and the button, making access to those controls considerably easier too.

ULTRA SMOOTH PROPRIATARY BORE SURFACE
RADIUSED CAM PIN RECESS
The bore and barrel extension area are machined in a single operation, ensuring perfect alignment, geometry is perpendicular and concentric.
The deliberately undersized extension bore supports the barrel, resisting micro-movement of the assembly under load and contributes to increased accuracy.
Bores are rough-drilled and then reamed to their final size, with tolerances held at .00006''.
A proprietary finishing process is utilized to produce a very smooth natural bore surface that improves performance,
no special coatings are required to reduce friction between the upper and the bolt carrier group, meaning coating wear
and failure potential are no longer a factor in operational lifespan.
Typical anodized bore smoothness is 16.4 Ra (Roughness Average), as tested with a Mitutoyo SJ-210 calibrated tester. This is a huge increase over competing products at 65.1 Ra, or 72.2 Ra.
Internally, the cam pin recess features a radiused leading edge, which helps reduce wear and friction. The set ships with our CP-R360 Domed Head, Radiused Cam Pin with patented improved geometry (US9970721B1), this is designed to be more sympathetic to the internal surfaces of the receiver, further reducing wear and friction while increasing component lifespan.
Cam pins are precision-machined on highly accurate Swiss-style turning centers using 17-4PH (Precipitation Hardened) stainless steel, which is then heat-treated to H900 condition.
The pin head surface is ultra-smooth at 2.0 Ra as compared to a traditional rectangular headed cam pin at 30.3 Ra.

75,000 ROUNDS...
Bore testing after 75,000 rounds (actual rounds not simulated) revealed a 25.6 Ra surface bore smoothness which still outperforms competing products.
Cam pin smoothness remained extremely smooth at 5.2 Ra.
